Beverly Joanne Hanson passed to her heavenly home on February 10, 2013.
Joanne was born on June 20, 1933 to Axel and Manila Ahlberg. Joanne grew up in the Gig Harbor area where her father was a commercial fisherman, and the owner and Captain of the fishing boat, “The Pan Alaska.”
Joanne moved to Seattle after graduating from Peninsula High School in 1951, where she worked as a bookkeeper for Firestone. She met Lee, the love of her life, at a dance in Seattle and they were married on December 5, 1953. They made their first home in Tacoma before moving to their home on the water in Chico in 1959.
Joanne worked for a time selling real estate for Viking Realty, but was mostly an extraordinary homemaker, raising her three children and participating in their activities. She also was active with the Bremerton Boat Club, The American Legion, and The Bremerton Elks Club. Joanne will always be remembered for her love of music and being the life of her many parties by entertaining her guests on her piano and her accordion.
Joanne is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lee A. Hanson, her children, Lee A. Hanson, Jr. (Julie), Linda J. Moran (Kevin) and Michael J. Hanson (Trisha). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amanda , Johnny, Jane, Katie, Kristen, Ryan, Megan, and Bethany, as well as great-grandchildren Angelina and Brennen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on February 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Silverdale Lutheran Church, 11701 Ridgepoint Dr., Silverdale, Washington. A family graveside service will have already taken place.
