Dee Ann Maki, Kingston resident, born in Seattle on Sept. 29, 1938, grew up in Ballard, graduated from Ballard High School 1956, attended WWU, met and married sculptor Robert Maki, 1962. Daughter, artist Andrea Maki, was born 1966.

Worked for Bell Telephone, Weyerhauser, UW Provost Office, PONCHO, and with a love of fashion, modeled, served as Director of the Seattle's Model Guild, Assistant Fashion Director, Nordstrom. She worked 22 years at Group Health before retiring in 2004. A founding parent of Northwest School and Seattle Academy, a staunch advocate for the visual arts, and volunteered for many local organizations.

Daughter of Alvin F. Engelsen of Seattle and Marvel Hermanson of Tonasket, WA, sister to Lynne Carroll of Camas, WA (deceased). She leaves husband Robert Maki and daughter Andrea, nephews Bryan Carroll and wife Anette of Dallas, OR, and Grant Carroll of Camas, WA.
