Miriam E. Wellman, 86, formerly of Port Angeles, died on January 18, 2013 at her home in Poulsbo, Washington. Miriam was born in Pullman on July 14, 1926 to George R., Sr. and Caroline Andersen. The family moved to Black Diamond Road near Port Angeles when she was 1 year old. Miriam and her late husband Elry owned a dairy farm on Black Diamond Road for many years. Miriam also worked for the City of Port Angeles. After retiring she was active in the Gladys Billinge Moon Guild to benefit Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Miriam is survived by daughters Janet (George) Bahr of Poulsbo and Trudy (Tom) Cravens of Augusta, Michigan; a sister, Helen Shore, and a brother, George Andersen, Jr, both of Port Angeles; grandchildren, David (Jennifer) Bahr of Bonney Lake and Jeremy Bahr of Honolulu; great grandchildren, Daniel, Jessica and Zane Bahr; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, a private memorial service has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to Seattle Children's Hospital at www.seattlechildrens.org. Online condolences can be shared at the guest book link above.
