Margaret Elizabeth Barnett, 84, died Dec. 26, 2012 at Harrison Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born Mar. 27, 1928 in Seattle, WA to Christ and Dorothy Apeland. She had a twin brother, Robert, who preceded her in death.
Margaret grew up in Vinland, WA and lived in Bremerton until last year when she moved to Port Orchard. Margaret graduated from North Kitsap High School. She worked for a short time at PSNS before her marriage to the love of her life. She married Billy W. Barnett on May 18, 1951 in Bremerton. They were married for 54 years until Billy's death in 2005.
She was a homemaker, loving mother to Joyce Shinn (Wesley) of Lakebay, WA and Lewis Barnett of Gig Harbor; and a devoted grandmother to two grandson's, Christopher Shinn of Lakebay and Jeffrey Shinn of Bremerton. She is preceded in death by her parents, twin brother, and husband.
She loved her family and friends and was always very thoughtful and giving to others. Her hobbies included cross stitch, puzzles, cross word puzzles, and Bingo. She enjoyed making and giving away tea towels for those who touched her life.
Memorial service will be held on Jan. 12th at 1:00 pm at Key Peninsula Lutheran Church in Lakebay, WA. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
