James Allen Carnahan

U.S. Veteran

James Allen Carnahan, 73, of Port Orchard, passed away peacefully at Harrison Hosp. Dec 10, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born in Mason City, WA on Apr 7, 1939 to Carl “Pete” & Catherine (Hipp) Carnahan. He grew up in Silverdale, and was a graduate of Central Kitsap High School, Class of 1957. Jim served in the WA Army National Guard as a radar tech and senior avionics mechanic, and received many recognition awards during his 36 yrs of continuous service, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed camping, watching sports, and spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by his wife Pat, children Jim, Traci, Dani Fair (Tom) Jorgensen, Matt (Heather) Fair, sister Peggy (Jerry) Nance, brother Bill (Paula) Carnahan, 10 grandchildren, & many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.

His greatest joy was being with his grandchildren who loved spending time with him on our many family camping adventures. He will be greatly missed by all.

Services will be held on Dec 29, 2012 at 2pm at Hillcrest Assembly Church, 6750 St. Hwy 303 NE, Bremerton (360.692.1555), with a celebration of his life to follow at the Bremerton VFW. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
